The General John Coffee Collection consists of copies of correspondence and pay vouchers that were obtained at the National Archives from various files by Dan Wallace of Cypress Inn, Tennessee in the early 1990s. The Coffee papers are from approximately 1803-1817 and provide information on the foundation of Florence, Alabama, and General John Coffee’s military conquests.

The transcripts section of the Coffee Collection offers access to transcriptions of all 170 of the letters and memorandums within the physical archival collection, as well as supplemental information that explains the origins and contents of the collection.

A selection of the digitized manuscripts can be viewed here. The physical manuscripts are available by appointment at the UNA archives.
