Description
Second issue of the first map of the Alabama territory. The map depicts both the Mississippi and Alabama Territories, including main roads and Native American paths. In Alabama, only three counties in the extreme southwest, Washington, Baldwin, and Clark (created in 1812) are depicted. Mobile was also designated in 1812 but is not named in the map though its area is included, while Monroe County (designated in 1815) also remains omitted from depiction.
