Description

Student Union, Florence State College (1957 - 1968), Florence (Alabama). Building now known as (Robert M.) Guillot University Center or GUC. Card on verso reads: "The Union is the center of student life on the campus of Florence State College, housing the cafeteria, snack bar, bookstore, post office, and music and television rooms. One of three buildings completed in 1962 at a cost of one and one-half million dollars, it has become the popular campus meeting place." In 1988 the building was named in honor of Robert M. Guillot, President of the University of North Alabama, 1972 - 1989.
