Description
Forks of Cypress (Florence, Alabama). Text on verso reads: "In the early 1830's, James Jackson, one of the founders of Florence, built this stately mansion on a beautiful knoll overlooking his plantation. Distinguished by 24 massive columns, encircling the building, his residence became a famous meeting place for prominent citizens, who loved to race their horses on the excellent track maintained by James Jackson. Among the noted visitors were Andrew Jackson, James Madison, and James Coffee."
