Description
Plans for this building (a dormitory) were approved April 20, 1911, by Governor Emmet O'Neal. Constructed in 1913, this 4-story brick building could accommodate 125 students and their belongings. It included a reception hall, lounge, office for matron/housekeeper, guest rooms, and a 36x72 foot exercise room. The college cafeteria was also located in this building on the first floor. It was named O'Neal Hall in 1930. By the 1950s, The Lion's Den (the student center) occupied the building (had television sets and laundering facilities). The building was demolished in the early 1980s to make room for an expanded Student Union Center building.
