Description

Flowers Hall was constructed in 1972 to house the physical education department and athletic programs at Florence State University. Named for Hubert A. "Eddie" Flowers, the school's first Athletic Director until he retired in 1969. Flowers came to State Normal School in 1927 as a physical education instructor, later coaching the Men's Basketball, Tennis, and Baseball teams as well as serving as Director and Chairman of the Physical Education Department.
