MEMORANDUM
TO: UNA Basketball Team, Coaches & Trainers
FROM: Robert L. Potts
RE: CONGRATULATIONS!
DATE: March 18, 1991
I am so proud of each of you for the contributions you have made toward moving the University forward to national prominence. I was especially delighted with the wins in Troy last weekend and look forward to outstanding accomplishments in Springfield.
Although prior commitments will prevent my travelling with you to Massachusetts, I do plan to be on hand for the game on Thursday evening. I have asked Dr. Joe Thomas, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost to travel with you as my special representative on the trip up. You have the total support and appreciation of the administration for your efforts this year.
As I have told you before, we are proud of your accomplishments to this point in the season and are pulling for you to win every game in Massachusetts, coming home the national champs. The type of positive recognition this will bring to the University, and to you throughout your careers, cannot be purchased. It is of value beyond estimation.
Play hard, play well, taking one game at a time. The national championship is within your grasp. I'll see you in Springfield!
