News clipping from the Florence Times, which includes images of the Florence State Teachers College committee that proposed the introduction of football to the college. The committee included Dr. F.E. Lund (committee chairman), Charles Glock, H.A. Flowers (eventual athletic director), Dr. H.H. Floyd, R.C. Fuller, and Otis Peacock.

The attached additional files were published in the Florence Times around the same date, March 26 and 22, 1949, respectively, and pertain to the introduction of the football program at Florence State Teachers College.
The first attachment, the March 26th article, offers photographs and a small text summary of President E.B. Norton's announcement to the student body that a football team would be present in the 1949 season. Whereas, the second attachment, the March 22nd article, overs a more thorough explanation of the reestablishment of the team and a headshot of Norton.
