Abstract
Over the past 20 years, technology has truly revolutionized the way individuals andorganizations communicate. People now use smartphones to send and receive textmessages, use netbooks or tablet PCs to generate a web presence, check theirFacebook pages or ‘tweet’ their current status. Individuals within organizationsalso create and share their work online and access documents from anywhere. Thistype of communication provides almost anytime, anywhere access to anyone andhas in essence created a ubiquitous computing communication environment. Thispaper discusses how a three dimensional pedagogy is utilized to revamp the FloridaA&M University School of Business and Industry’s (SBI) Professional LeadershipDevelopment (PLD) current communications infrastructure. The focus of this paperis to (1) discuss the three-dimensional pedagogy model, (2) provide an overview ofthe School of Business and Industry’s Professional Leadership DevelopmentDepartment, (3) present an overview of the updated communication objectives forPLD, and (4) provide a synopsis of our findings. The SBI PLD program combinedwith the three-dimensional pedagogy model can provide other schools with animplementation exemplar, which can serve as a foundational example and offerlessons learned from the program’s deployment of their communicationinfrastructure.
