The Shoals consists of four cities in North Alabama, often known as the Quad Cities: Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, and Tuscumbia. The Shoals History Digital Image Collection contains photographs pertaining to integral components of the community's local history, including its infrastructure, commerce, and key events.

The digital archives also house other collections with more information on local Shoals history. The largest and most topically diverse is the William Lindsey McDonald Collection. However, other collections pertaining to specific elements of local history, such as the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Collection, Maps Collection, and Nitrate Plant Collection, are also located within our repository.
