Description
Willingham Hall was designated as a fallout shelter in the 1950s by the U.S. Defense Department. It became an administrative building beginning in 1969 when the Office of Career Development and Placement, a commuter lounge, and Social Science Department of Faculty were placed here. By 2004, English, History, and Political Science faculty are housed here. Renovations occurred in Willingham Hall in 2008 with refurbishing the first and second floors and completely renovating the basement to accommodate space for 16 new offices. Flooring was replaced, a new central heating and air unit was replaced, windows were replaced to be more energy efficient, and the building was brought up to code with handicap accessibility added.
