Sheffield, Alabama

Proclamation

WHEREAS, the University of North Alabama Basketball team experienced a 29-4 winning season, and;

WHEREAS, the 1990-1991 Lions, through hard work and dedication, won the NCAA Division II National Championship and procured the beat overall record and the most wins in school history, and

WHEREAS, the 1990-1991 Basketball team and their coaches have shown what can be accomplished through hard work and discipline,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Sheffield, that Coach Gary Elliot and all the members of the 1990-1991 UNA Basketball team is hereby commended for a job well done.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that April 4, 1991 be and is hereby declared as

*UNA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP DAY*.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this the 2nd day of April, 1991.
