Resolution
WHEREAS the University of North Alabama Lions Basketball team won the NCAA Division II, Championship in Springfield, MA., and
WHEREAS this outstanding basketball team has shown determination, endurance, fortitude and distinct team work in winning this Championship, and
WHEREAS this team of dedicated young men and their inspiring coach have earned the respect and admiration of the entire District and the support and pride of the Community,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Sheffield, Alabama, that Friday, March 23,1979 be and it is hereby proclaimed "University of North Alabama Day" in the City of Sheffield, Alabama, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the team and coach of the University of North Alabama Lions with congratulations from the City and citizens of the City of Sheffield.
