RESOULTION
(COMMENDING THE 1983-84 UNA MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM)
SUBMITTED BY:
WILLIAM E. SMITH, JR., PRESIDENT PRO-TEMPORE
WHEREAS, THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH ALABAMA MEN'S BASKETBALL HAS DISTINGUISHED THEMSELVES BY COMPILING A RECORD OF 27-7, AND
WHEREAS, THE LIONS DID BRING HONOR, RECOGNITION AND GLORY TO THE UNIVERSITY BY WINNING THE GULF SOUTH CONFERENCE TITLE, AND TOURNAMENT, AND
WHEREAS, THE LIONS DISPLAYED COURAGE, DETERMINATION AND SUPERIOR TALENT IN WINNING THE SOUTHERN REGIONAL AND NCAA QUARTERFINALS, AND
WHEREAS, THE LIONS IN REPRESENTING THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH ALABAMA AT THE NCAA FINALS IN SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS WON THE HEARTS AND RESPECT OF THOUSANDS NATIONWIDE BY EXEMPLIFYING CLASS, AND THE UTMOST OF CHARACTER, THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED, THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION DOES HEREBY COMMEND THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH ALABAMA MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM, AND COACH BILL JONES AND HIS STAFF, AND BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED, THAT COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION BE SENT TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH ALABAMA BASKETBALL TEAM, THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT, COACH BILL JONES, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, AND DR. ROBERT M. GUILLOT, PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH ALABAMA,
