COLBERT COUNTY, ALABAMA
Resolution
WHEREAS, the University of North Alabama Basketball Team has won the 1990-1991 NCA Division II National Championship, becoming only the third school in the history of Division II Tournament Basketball to win more than one national championship; and
WHEREAS, in route to the national championship, the UNA Basketball Team posted a 29-4 record, the best record in school history: and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Gary Elliott led the Basketball Team to the National Championship in just his third season as head coach and has compiled a 66-23 record in only three seasons as head coach at the school.
NOW, THEREFORE, PREMISES CONSIDERED, the Colbert County Commission does hereby congratulate and commend the University of North Alabama Basketball Team. Head Coach Gary Elliott and the assistant coaches for the outstanding accomplishments achieved during the 1990-1991 basketball season and for the team's excellent representation of the University of North Alabama and the Shoals Area in the Division II National Tournament.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Colbert County Commission that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of its April 2, 1991 meeting and a copy of this Resolution be presented to the UNA Basketball Team on UNA Basketball Championship Day.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this the 2nd day of April. 1991.
