Description

Dr. William Henry Anderson became the seventh president of Florence Wesleyan University around 1868. Newspaper accounts during this time show that Anderson had been acting in this position since the college reopened in the Fall of 1869. At the 1870 Session of the Annual Conference in Pulaski, Tennessee, a resolution was addressed to the bishop of the North Alabama Conference requesting the appointment of Dr. W. H. Anderson as President of Florence Wesleyan University. During his administration, he attempted to establish a law department at the university. He left as president in 1871.
