    Description

    Even when war threatened the university, Dr. Robert A. Young and Professor Rice continued to teach at Florence Wesleyan University until 1866 (a small number of students). He left Florence Wesleyan University in 1865-1866 and was elected Secretary of Vanderbilt University at Nashville, which was also a Methodist institute.
