Description

Dr. Robert Miller Guillot was born January 2, 1922, in Headland, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. degree in 1943. During this time, he served three and a half years in the United States Air Corps. He then enrolled at the University of Alabama and obtained a juris doctorate degree in 1948. He practiced law and taught school (one year at Rohobeth) in Dothan from 1948-1951. He served active duty as a legal officer at Orlando Air Force Base (Korean War) in 1951-1952. He served as mayor of Vestavia Hills, Alabama from 1960-1972. He obtained a C.L.U. degree from American College in 1966. He was a member of the Board of Trustees for Troy State University from 1966-1972. He served as president of the Alabama League of Municipalities and the Association of Alabama (Educators) Life Insurance Companies from 1971-1972.
